Healthcare IT Services in Arizona

Managed IT, HIPAA-compliant cloud, cybersecurity, cabling, and telehealth support for medical practices and clinics, from one Tucson-based team that works inside the regulatory perimeter every day.

What do healthcare IT services include?

Healthcare IT services cover the technology a medical practice depends on, run with HIPAA obligations built in: EHR/EMR support, HIPAA-compliant cloud and email, cybersecurity and backup, help desk and device management, network cabling, and telehealth systems. Practices outsource this work because patient data raises the stakes on every one of those layers, and because most clinics are too small to staff it internally. Unió Digital is a Tucson-based Arizona MSP providing healthcare IT services to practices, clinics, and healthcare-adjacent businesses across Tucson, Phoenix, and the rest of the state, including HIPAA-compliant cloud services built on Microsoft 365 and Azure.

One Team, The Whole Practice

IT Solutions for Healthcare Organizations

Every layer a practice runs on, delivered by one accountable provider instead of a different vendor per system.

EHR/EMR Support

The infrastructure your EHR depends on: workstation and server management, uptime monitoring, secure remote access for providers, and coordination with your EHR vendor when issues cross the line between their software and your environment.

HIPAA-Compliant Cloud & Email

Microsoft 365 and Azure configured for PHI: BAA execution, encryption, MFA, audit logging, and retention. The full setup is documented on our HIPAA-compliant cloud services page.

Cybersecurity for Healthcare

Most healthcare breaches start with email, so we lead with email security and staff training, then layer endpoint protection, monitoring, and backup and recovery so records survive ransomware.

Managed IT for Practices

Help desk, device and server management, vendor coordination, and proactive maintenance under one managed IT services agreement, so front-desk and clinical staff always have someone to call.

Cabling & Networking for Medical Offices

Arizona ROC-licensed structured cabling for exam rooms, imaging equipment, and nurse stations, plus segmented Wi-Fi that keeps guest devices away from clinical systems.

Telehealth & Communications Support

Reliable video visits need bandwidth, quality of service, and secure endpoints. We support telehealth platforms and modern VoIP phone systems so patient communication works on the first try.

HIPAA safeguards include physical access too. We install access control and security cameras for records rooms, server closets, and clinical areas, tied in with the IT by the same licensed team.

Our Compliance Approach

HIPAA Is a State You Maintain, Not a Badge You Buy

There is no such thing as HIPAA certification for a product or a vendor. HHS does not certify anyone, and any provider promising a "HIPAA certified" stack is selling marketing language. What actually matters is running your technology with the Security Rule safeguards in place: a signed Business Associate Agreement wherever PHI is handled, encryption, access controls, MFA, audit logging, tested backups, and trained staff, maintained month after month.

That is how we operate. We work under BAAs where our role requires them, we make sure the BAAs you need from cloud and backup vendors are actually executed, and we hand you the configuration evidence your risk analysis will ask for. The mechanics are laid out on our HIPAA-compliant cloud services page and in our plain-language HIPAA cloud storage guide.

Your practice remains the covered entity responsible for HIPAA compliance. Our job is to build and operate the technical safeguards so that responsibility is defensible.

Who We Serve

Healthcare IT Support for Every Kind of Practice

Medical & Dental Practices

Independent and multi-provider practices that need the EHR up, the phones answered, and patient data protected, without hiring an IT department.

Clinics & Behavioral Health

Urgent care, specialty clinics, and counseling and therapy providers handling especially sensitive records, where access controls and audit trails carry extra weight.

Healthcare-Adjacent Businesses

Billing companies, labs, and imaging centers that hold PHI as business associates and carry HIPAA obligations of their own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about healthcare IT services and support.

An IT provider whose work involves access to PHI is a business associate under HIPAA, which means it must sign a Business Associate Agreement with your practice and implement the Security Rule safeguards in the systems it manages: access controls, encryption, audit logging, backup, and incident procedures. It also should not promise "HIPAA certification," because no such certification exists. Ask any prospective provider whether they sign BAAs and how they document safeguards; the answer tells you a lot.

Managed IT for Arizona practices is typically bundled into tiers that run $100 to $300 per user per month depending on scope, with compliance-heavy environments toward the upper part of the range because of the added security, backup, and documentation work. One-time projects such as a HIPAA cloud setup or an office cabling build are quoted fixed-price after a free assessment. Those ranges are approximate planning figures; every quote is custom and sized to your environment.

Yes, if the MSP's work involves access to PHI, and for a provider managing your servers, email, or backups it almost always does. Practice size does not change the requirement. The BAA must be in place before the provider touches systems that hold patient data, and you also need BAAs with your cloud, email, and backup vendors. We operate under BAAs where required and help practices verify that their vendor BAAs actually cover the services in use.

We support the environment every EHR runs on: the workstations, servers, network, remote access, and backups underneath it, and we coordinate directly with your EHR vendor when an issue crosses into their software. That model works across cloud-hosted and on-premises EHR and practice management systems, because the infrastructure layer is where most day-to-day problems actually live. Bring your EHR details to the free assessment and we will map exactly where our responsibility meets the vendor's.

In layers, because no single control holds. Email security and staff awareness training address the way most healthcare attacks start. Endpoint protection and MFA contain what gets through. Immutable, tested backups and a disaster recovery plan mean a ransomware event costs you cleanup time instead of your patient records. HIPAA treats availability as a requirement too, which is why backup and recovery are part of the compliance picture rather than an optional extra.

Yes. Unió Digital holds Arizona ROC contractor licenses (ROC 327245 and ROC 333580) and an Arizona Alarm license (25254-0), so one licensed team runs the structured cabling for exam rooms and imaging equipment, installs access control and cameras for records rooms and entrances, and stands up the network and IT on top. For a build-out or relocation, that means one coordinated project instead of three vendors pointing at each other.

Yes. Telehealth problems are usually infrastructure problems: not enough bandwidth, no quality-of-service prioritization, or insecure endpoints on the provider side. We size and configure the network for video visits, secure the devices clinicians use, and support the phone and communication systems around the telehealth platform so virtual care is as dependable as an in-person visit.
