Cabling Services
Structured Cabling Installation
Certified installation by licensed Arizona technicians. Every drop Fluke-tested, every project documented, every cable warrantied.
What is Structured Cabling Installation?
Structured cabling installation is the process of designing, pulling, terminating, testing, and certifying a standards-based telecommunications infrastructure in a commercial building. Following TIA/EIA-568 standards, a professional structured cabling installation includes horizontal cabling, backbone cabling, telecommunications rooms (MDF/IDF), work area outlets, patch panels, pathways, labeling, and complete as-built documentation. Every run is Fluke DSX-certified to Category 6 or 6A performance.
Professional Structured Cabling Installation in Arizona
Unió Digital is a licensed Arizona data cabling contractor (ROC 327245, ROC 333580) specializing in structured cabling installation for commercial buildings. Our installations follow BICSI best practices and TIA/EIA-568 standards, with every horizontal run Fluke DSX-certified and every fiber optic link OTDR-tested.
Whether you're building out a new office, retrofitting an existing facility, or expanding an enterprise campus, our installation process is designed for predictability: fixed pricing, detailed schedules, single point of contact, and zero surprises at closeout.

Our Structured Cabling Installation Process
Every Unió Digital structured cabling installation follows the same proven 6-phase process, adapted to your building, schedule, and scope.
Discovery & Site Survey
We walk your building with you to document drop locations, identify cable pathways, note ceiling and wall construction, measure distances, identify firestop requirements, and flag any obstacles. We also review your existing MDF/IDF, current switching, and anticipated growth so the design supports 10+ years of use.
Design & Engineering
Our BICSI-trained designers produce AutoCAD floor plans showing drop locations, pathways, MDF/IDF layouts, and rack elevations. We generate a cable schedule, patch panel schedule, and bill of materials. All designs comply with TIA/EIA-568, ANSI/TIA-569 pathways, NFPA 70 electrical code, and local building code.
Pathway & Rough-In
Technicians install cable tray, J-hooks, innerduct, conduit, and firestop penetrations per the approved design. For new construction, pathway work happens during rough-in before drywall. For retrofits, we work around existing ceilings, furniture, and occupants with minimal disruption.
Cable Pulling
Cables are pulled through designated pathways with bend radius, pull tension, and fill ratios continuously verified. We use plenum-rated cable in air-handling spaces, riser-rated in vertical runs, and color-coded cable for voice, data, camera, and access control to simplify future troubleshooting.
Termination & Testing
Each end terminated to T568B on RJ45 jacks and patch panels. Fiber terminated with LC or SC connectors and polished. Every horizontal run tested with a Fluke DSX CableAnalyzer for wiremap, insertion loss, return loss, NEXT, PS-NEXT, ACR-F, and delay skew. Fiber tested with an OTDR and optical power meter.
Closeout & Documentation
Project closeout includes as-built CAD drawings, Fluke certification reports for every cable run, patch panel schedules with cable IDs, a labeled rack photo book, and the 25-year manufacturer warranty registration. Documentation is delivered in PDF and DWG formats for your records.
Types of Structured Cabling Installations We Perform
From small office retrofits to multi-building campus deployments, we install at every scale.

Tenant Improvements
Full cabling build-out for new office suites including MDF/IDF, horizontal cabling, WAP drops, and low voltage.
Retrofits & Upgrades
Adding drops, upgrading from Cat5e to Cat6A, adding fiber backbone, or modernizing an existing MDF/IDF.
Data Center & Server Room
High-density copper and fiber cabling for racks, cross-connects, and top-of-rack switching with pre-terminated MTP/MPO trunks.
Warehouse & Industrial
Rugged cabling for WAPs, scanners, IoT sensors, and OT networks in warehouses and manufacturing facilities.

Installation FAQs
What is included in a structured cabling installation?
A complete structured cabling installation includes site survey, design and engineering, pathway rough-in (cable tray, J-hooks, conduit, firestop), cable pulling to TIA/EIA-568 standards, termination at patch panels and work area outlets, Fluke DSX certification testing, labeling, and as-built documentation.
How long does structured cabling installation take?
A 10-30 drop installation typically takes 2-3 days. A 50-150 drop project runs 1-2 weeks. Large campus or multi-floor structured cabling installations can span 4-8 weeks. Every Unió Digital project comes with a detailed schedule and firm completion date.
Do you install structured cabling during occupied business hours?
Yes, we routinely work in occupied commercial spaces with minimal disruption. For sensitive environments (healthcare, 24/7 operations, trading floors), we offer after-hours and weekend installation at standard premium rates with project planning designed around your schedule.
What certifications does Unió Digital carry for structured cabling installation?
Unió Digital holds Arizona ROC 327245 and ROC 333580 Specialty Dual contractor licenses. Our installers carry BICSI Installer certifications, manufacturer-specific certifications for Panduit, CommScope, and Leviton, and OSHA-30 safety training. All work is tested and certified with Fluke DSX CableAnalyzer equipment.
Do you provide installation for new construction structured cabling projects?
Yes. We regularly partner with general contractors on new construction for commercial buildings, performing rough-in during the construction phase, then returning for termination and certification after drywall and ceilings are complete.
How much does a structured cabling installation cost?
Commercial structured cabling installation typically runs $150-$300 per drop for Cat6 and $200-$400 per drop for Cat6A in open-ceiling office environments. Pricing depends on drop count, cable category, building construction, pathway requirements, and site access. Unió Digital provides fixed-price quotes after a free on-site assessment.
